Evans in shock exit
Kerswell named as successor
JEFF Evans has been sacked as Dawlish Town boss, with Adam Kerswell returning to the club to fill the vacant hotseat.
Town chairman Dave Fenner has confirmed to the Gazette that Evans, along with his assistant Chris Porter, were relieved of their duties last Wednesday.
Fenner has wasted little time in appointing Evans’ successor, naming Kerswell as the first-team’s new manager.
Fenner, who is slashing the budget for next term, said it was purely a financial decision, stating that while expenses were being paid to Bristolian Evans and Torbay-based Porter, Kerswell, who lives in Torquay, will be working for nothing.
‘It’s nothing to do with Jeff’s or Chris’s ability to do the job,’ said the Dawlish chairman, who stated that he would still like to keep Evans involved at the club as his experience is ‘invaluable’.
